Rick Bellars, M.D.

Dr. Bellars graduated from Georgetown School of Medicine in 1996 and completed an internship in internal medicine at Bethesda Naval Medical Center in 1997 before serving as a general practitioner in the Navy.  After graduating from the flight surgery program in Pensacola, Florida, Dr. Bellars served the remainder of his commitment with the Marine Airwing.  He returned to residency at the University of California, San Diego, and joined the faculty as an Assistant Clinical Professor after graduation in 2004.  Dr. Bellars was one of the first regional anesthesia faculty at UCSD.  He also teaches advanced airway management with Dr. Jon Benumof and is a member of the liver transplant team
